Calling Walgreens Shoppers!

How about some free-ish chapstick???? In the Walgreens ad there is a coupon to get Chapstick for .99. If you purchase Chapstick Naturals (reg. 2.99) and use the Walgreens coupon you will pay .99 plus tax BUT get a Register Rewards coupon for $2.00 your next purchase. You can not use the RR to buy more chapstick AND get a new RR. So for every $.99 you spend (1 at a time) you get a $2.00 that personally I am saving for another time to purchase somethng BIGGER. Like Milk Or eggs or something you never find a coupon for. This is good just this week. My Student Council is collecting for the troops right now so I have a nice stash of chapstick for them.

The most wonderful time of the year!

Hope everyone is out there snagging bargains galore! Some bargains that just jumped out to me was Dollar General. We just recently got one in our 1 horse town and I stop in often to get milk, tylenol, etc. Well they has kitchen towel sets on Clearance for 75% off. So i grabbes several. Then I had to hit another store for more bacause I am goign to give them tot he middle school teachers next Christmas. It seems I kept running to Bath and Body Works for hand lotions every other day because I forgot Miss so and so. Well I got enough sets and at $1.25 a set definately a good useful yet chaep gift. And it includes 2 towels, 2 wash clothes, 2 potholders and an oven mit. Ka ching!
Also Walgreens was a bargain haven yesterday. They had their Christmas stuff 75% off. I got some ribbon (purples, blue, gold!) for just 9 cents each and some funky pens for the kids' Easter Baskets. Easter is super early this year and my boys will wake up to baskets of sugary goodness and COnnect 4 and Barrel of Monkies pens. What could be better. I really haven't "after Christmas Shopped" yet. Unless hunting Guitar Hero III down for the kind's Wii counts. But that was more like peek your head into a store, see if they had it and leave empty handed.

An unexpected Bargain, Store displays

On Black Friday i can't tell you how many Walmarts I went to looking for a certain DVD recorder. My friend was in search for one for her son. As it turned out we ended up then looking for another and in a split decision I decided I HAD to have one too. It was a bargain at $47. to begin with. My last attempt at finding one was at a tiny Walmart and they had 2 display models. I talked the manager out of 1 and got an extra 15% off! BIG SCORE! Yesterdya I decided out of the blue that I needed a stand mixer. i really didn't want or need a big kitchen Aid one because I know I don't want any of the attachments and I don't have the counter space. I ended up at Sears looking at some more moderatly priced mixers and as luck would have it they had a white Sunbeam mixer wiht a 450 watt motor on clearance. All they had was the mixer. Once again i talked to the sales staff and since their were none to be had in the back I got $10 off making it just a tad under $65. While checking out one was found somewhere in the very back of the storage room and instead of reringing it or adjusting the price since I had already paid I got one in thebox for the same LOW LOW price. The regular price was $159. I never would ask about store displays but heck, no more. If it is there on the shelf and the instruction book/warranty card is there then ring it up!
